Food-Grade Silicone Tableware for Babies & Toddlers - Why It Matters

Why food-grade silicone and not plastic?

Non-toxic by design

Food-grade silicone lacks harmful chemicals  (BPA, phthalates, PVC etc) that are commonly found in plastic. What touches your child's food is exactly what it says it is: nothing harmful.

Built to last

Unlike plastic, silicone doesn't warp, crack or degrade. It survives the dishwasher, the freezer and the floor — repeatedly.

Gentler on the planet

Silicone outlasts plastic many times over, which means less waste. It's not a perfect material, but it is a meaningfully more durable choice.

Safe for little mouths

Soft, flexible and smooth — silicone won't scratch gums or chip in the way hard plastic can. It's forgiving in all the right ways.

Stain and odour resistant

Silicone doesn't hold onto yesterday's lunch. A quick wash by hand or in the dishwasher  and it's done.

Designed for real family life

Our tableware is built around Scandinavian design principles: calm aesthetics, practical details, and a natural non-slip quality that helps toddlers eat more independently.

Our Testing & Standards

Our tableware is independently tested by accredited third-party laboratories before it reaches you. We test across three areas depending on product:

Chemical safety — that no harmful substances are present above permitted limits, including phthalates, cadmium, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated paraffins.

Food contact migration — that no substances transfer from the material into food under realistic use conditions, including contact with acidic and fatty foods at elevated temperatures.

Mechanical safety - for those products where this is applicable, we check that no component has sharp points or edges, that parts cannot detach under the forces a child is likely to apply, and that products survive being dropped.

Independent testing confirms our products meet regulatory requirements at the time of testing. It is not a guarantee of zero risk in all circumstances - which is why we also ask you to inspect products before each use and replace them at the first sign of damage.
